TINO
POST SHOW VOL. 2
TINO (b. La Habra, CA) is a Los Angeles–based artist whose work explores the internet as a site of absurdity, connection, and critique. He received his BFA from ArtCenter College of Design (2018) and his MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (2022). Drawing from the visual language of memes and other highly circulated images across platforms like Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok, TINO reconfigures digital culture through distortion, layering, and the process known as “deep frying.” His work highlights both the humor and aggression embedded in the internet’s constant flood of content—an environment that is overstimulating, intrusive, and yet undeniably entertaining. By exaggerating these qualities, he reflects on how online spaces shape the ways we express ourselves, relate to others, and find meaning in the chaotic stream of shared images.
